Scholarship Recipients 2009-- Walter's Gang:

In 2009, the Parkway Running Club awarded the Walter Burgess Scholarship to four recipients who were sent to the Newport Running Camp for a week. 

Bryan, Samantha, Lisa, and Tracy 

• Bryan Q. - Sophomore HS, Auburn MA
  Has been running since he was 6 when his Dad was training for the Boston Marathon
  Belongs to C-C track, Basketball and Outdoor Track teams. 
  Won his age group in Falmouth, qualified for State XC Championships. 
   

• Samantha B. - Senior Cedar Crest College, Pa.
  Has been to Newport Camp in the past
  Dedicated runner, enriched by the team relationships and the positive healthy reward of running. 
  Has been team captain for 2 years.
  Model student who is active in community service and women's programs at school.
   

• Lisa N. - 9th grade, Gardner MA
  Runs indoor and outdoor track. 
  Loves running and dancing. 
  VP class of 2012
  Member of Leo club, SADD, drama club, and National Art Society
  Loves helping people
  Goal: to beat 200 m school record
   

• Tracy D. - Freshman HS, Westwood MA
  Named captain of cross country team, plays soccer
  Runs races and wants to improve her times.
  She ran Walter’s 5K Run twice and won her age group in December, 2008.
